“The Kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is within you.” Luke 17:22

The Immortal Sin, Lust. by Matthew Stark

The Immortal Sin of lust is a carnage that has wrecked our world.  I know that statement has turned many heads already, but bare with me and I may show you a path you didn’t see. Just imagine the first time you fell in love with another person, that love and passion led you to making love, a sexually physical activity of connecting two bodies into one.  Usually with the hopes of reproducing and baring more fruitful harvests.

Yet, we know in our society this is not true of relationships anymore.  We live by carnal nature, which is natural if you’re of this earth.  For the animals run around and love freely.  Yet many creatures still bond for committed relationships.  Think of the winged birds who only have one mate, or the turtles that travel the oceans and reunite every year.  Humans, a complicated beast or a deceived soul?

” Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  For everything in the world – the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does – comes not from the Father but from the world.  The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.” – 1 John 2:15

This does not mean we cannot love and appreciate all of Gods creation.  He is saying the things of this world are not natural, the things of Man, not the things of God.  Water is of God, nature is of God, but our cities, our merchandise, our commodities, our social rankings, our wealth, our possessions. No we are only to love that of God, that of the spirit.  This is what Jesus Christ has taught. This is what Gandhi practiced.

Love is of the heart not the body.  The body is of this world, our souls are not.  We love the soul of the person when we decide to get married.  However culture has made it acceptable to love the body, worship the body, our entire culture revolves around the body.  We destroy our planet to make our selves appear more beautiful and perfect than we already are.  To appear as something higher than what we are.  Everyone wants to appear to be a king or queen, but no one wants to behave like a king or queen.

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:16

As yet another Bible verse hints to us what we know to be true.  That we all grow old and die.  We know the treasures of this world cannot follow us into the after life.  Just go to a museum if you don’t believe me.  Instead of putting all our energy into something that can’t last, we should spend our time on things that will last forever.  Just as our souls.

We have destroyed this planet and our selves for shameful reasons.  Sure the cravings where strong but our means of satisfying our selves where impure. There are ways to satisfy the body, the mind, and the soul with balance.  Without losing our selves to temptation.  Let’s evolve into beings of love, angels.

..At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angles in heaven.” Matthew 22:30

So do not worry about the things of this world.  Everything will come to pass as it should.  Take stock in your soul and rebuild a relationship with Jesus Christ.  He is very forgiving and will never turn away from you.  It’s us who have turned away from him.  It’s us who have turned away from Gods kingdom within us. Just remember we’re always welcome back, like a lost son who returns home.

“If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.  If he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times comes back to you and says, ‘I repent,’ forgive him.” Luke 17:3

So he asks us to forgive each other unconditionally, than how true is it that our God will be as Just and forgiving to us?

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

It is sometimes as easy as being that which we wish to have.  Do unto others as you would have done unto you. Many unbelievers say what’s the point if all is forgiven?  Isn’t that what you want?  Do you not seek forgiveness for our past transgressions?  For our weaknesses?

“And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

So with everything good the Bible can teach us, and with every thing we know in our hearts to be true; I think we can conclude that our world has deceived us.  The devil can only control and hurt the non-believers.  Who can try to trick us back into sin, but that’s why our Father is there to redeem us.  He knows it is not easy, it is why he sent his only Son to die for us.

His son didn’t have to die, humanity could have changed their ways, but God knew this would not happen.  The word of the prophets and the word of God must hold True so that we know our God is true and Just.  Just as we our selves know how to.  It may not be our faults that the world is in dismay, but we can do something about it. We don’t have to be apart of the problem.

You have to ask your self what is most important to you; to live in the physical world knowing it’ll never last or to live in the spirit where you know you are eternal?  Ask your self this question and really dig deep.  Is getting caught up in the physical world really worth losing our souls over?

Note from Writer,

I never set out to be a writer, yet here I am writing my hearts desire and Gods will.  This isn’t just so my readers can be saved, this is for my saving as well.  I serve God in order to redeem my self from all my sins.  Even though I know I am forgiven, I realized that I could no longer live for self anymore.  I had to live as all the great ones before me have, I must live to serve everyone else.

Please understand I also struggle just like all of you.  Yet if we share in this struggle we become much stronger.  There are dark forces at work and we are the last defense for many of our loved ones.  We can’t do much for trees with rotted roots, but there are many more trees still alive that just need a little help. We are that help.

As Jesus said, he didn’t come to bring peace.  He came here knowing that what he would do would divide families, son against Father, daughter against Mother.  He knew that many would refute his coming and his love.  He came to save souls, just as you and I are not here to save our selves.  We are here to help save others.  Through the giving of our temporal lives, we gain eternal life.

I say all this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Sincerely, Matthew Stark
